Abstract and information:
Quarto is a powerful open-source typesetting language. Including both R and Python functionality, it can be used to write a huge range of outputs including full websites of html pages, interactive Python or R workbooks via Jupyter, dynamic and accessible slides, or even traditional lecture notes.
This hands-on interactive workshop will teach you how to create and build Quarto documents. The workshop will cover: how to build Quarto documents, writing content in Quarto, working with revealjs slides, and authoring longer-form documents such as lecture notes. Templates will be provided for ease of use, given as RStudio projects.
To get the most out of this workshop, which caters for everybody, you will need to be able to run Quarto. You can either do this locally via RStudio on computer, or to use Posit Cloud (a free cloud-based service to run RStudio projects). More instructions can be found at https://quarto.org/docs/get-started/hello/rstudio.html (local installation) or https://posit.cloud/ (browser based).
